Do these things to prepare and your story will shine!

7. Share Special Moments

There will be something extra important in your story. Make sure you spend time crafting the way to share it. The audience wants to know what was special to you. Rather than say “this was special to me,” be clearer and say, “For the first time, I understood what love really was.”

8. Plan

To tell your story EFFECTIVELY you should make a plan. One idea is to write down a few thoughts on an index card. Then get another card and write another idea down. Continue until you have enough cards that can tell your story. Practice telling it. Then take out the cards that aren’t necessary and add what was missing.

9. Try it Out

Once you have your story organized, tell it to the mirror without the cards. Then tell it to a friend, someone in the hall, even someone you don’t really know. Watch for their reactions to your voice, gestures, words, movement. Adjust your story to make it SHINE.
