Keep these Tips in mind as you plan….

4. Think Biblically

Choose to tell a story that aligns with what the Bible teaches. Give us the address (address: book, chapter, verses) when you talk about verses in the Bible.

5. Convey Ideas Passionately

Speaking with passion means that you use your voice (volume, rate, emphasis), gestures (movement, hands, facial expressions), and choice of words (describe the setting, use a metaphor) to make the story come ALIVE. Oh, and, uh, remove filler words (um, uh, so, yeah). Speaking with passion helps you ENJOY telling your story.

6. Be dramatic

When you tell your story, you must show emotion. Make your voice louder than usual (there are people way in the back of the room). When you demonstrate your fear, your happiness, your surprise, the audience feels it too. Your story will LIVE long after you’ve told it if you use emotion to make it real.
