The first 3 things to know about telling your story…

  1. Speak to Serve

Look out at your audience and recognize them as your NEIGHBORS. This means they are important and respected. You LOVE your neighbor (Jesus said to). Tell your story to SERVE these neighbors. Give them truth, real information that is relevant to them, something to remember that will benefit them in some way.

2. Tell Your Story

Your life is a story. The audience wants to know a tiny aspect of it. Consider the THEME of scripture and how it has impacted you in a particular experience. Then tell us about it! Tell it so we will remember it.

3. Be Trustworthy

The audience trusts that you are telling the truth. Be who you are. Embellish your story with your voice, movement and choice of words. Dress in HUMILITY and make your purpose clear. What it is you want your audience to remember?
